HOW TO INSTALL YOUR VUTILITY HOTDROP ENERGY SENSOR

Follow these easy-to-use installation instructions

The sensor requires active communication from Vutility in addition to being online through our App. The sensor may take minutes to hours to initially activate depending on the amount of current.

1. Locate the circuit breaker panel for the equipment to be monitored.

2. Remove the front panel.

   1. Use common sense! Do not touch exposed wires or metals! We recommend wearing insulated gloves to avoid accidental electric shock.

   2. For maximum safety, we recommend turning off the power to the circuit before getting started.

   3. Safety first! If you don’t feel comfortable with these steps, we recommend consulting with a professional electrician.

3. Clip the HotDrop on the wire to monitor. See images below.

4. The device will self-power up.

   1. You will see data connectivity lights flashing as the device self-powers itself up. If the sensor is not detecting any current then you may need to plug in a micro-USB connection to help jumpstart the sensor.
